ROOM & OFFICE MEME
I love to be nosy, which means I love to know all the beautiful little nuances of your characters. Given some discussion in the Discord, I thought I'd just throw up a room and office meme! Also please feel free to let me know if there's a section/question you'd like me to add to any of these, I just made it up off the top of my head 🤷♀️ You can use the same discussion thread for both if you want.

BEDROOM RESPONSES
BEDROOM: Kurt
What's their general aesthetic/color palette?: Warm browns and blues. vibes
What's their most prized possession?: The first pair of swords Xavier gave him. A photo of just him and Scott, taken as a selfie that Kurt printed out. A small corner with a crucifix hanging on the wall, next to a little cabinet that contains a rosary and other misc. Catholic symbols. A deck of tarot cards his foster mother and sister gave him before he left Germany.
How organized are they?: Not the worst, but worse than his office. Kurt's room is always in a bit of disarray unless he knows he's about to have a guest. With his open door policy (see below) you'd think he'd know to keep things tidy, but he's always rushing to shove clutter into closets and drawers every time someone knocks on his door.
Do they let people into their room? Do they let them hang out there?: Kurt has an open door policy, more or less. He rarely locks his room, so if his teammates or a distressed student need to barge in... there he is.
How is their room different from when they were younger?: Kurt has never had a room of his own until he was taken in by Xavier. Usually he was stuck into rooms with multiple foster siblings, sometimes he was in basements. His life before the X-Men was unpredictable and unkind. His time with Margali Szardos was the most stable, where he was on the top bunk with his foster brother, Stephan. Stephan didn't like Kurt (to put it lightly) so Kurt's personal space was still very small.

Anything else?: THIS IS UNFINISHED
BEDROOM: Emma
What's their general aesthetic/color palette?: Emma's room is (surprise) all white, and everything is expensive and a little extra. She has silk sheets. She has a tufted circular bed. She has a chaise lounge and a very large mirror and gauzy curtains. It's all very rich girl. The art that graces the wall is abstract and tasteful, all soft colors and very much this general vibe. Don't ask her how much they cost. There are a few pictures on the walls as well, though most sit in small frames about her room - they're exclusively Christian and the other X-Men, with a single shot of her, Warren, and Shinobi. A small corner bookcase houses a few knickknacks and her favorite books, all very worn out. There's a cedar chest filled with clothes she's taken from previous boyfriends.
What's their most prized possession?: Emma has a small stuffed white rabbit that is absolutely in tatters - Christian gave it to her when she was born. It's not in her bed (she's too grown up for that), but she does have him sitting on a small shelf, surrounded by books.
How organized are they?: Her closet is technically organized, but the rest of her room is a little bit of a nightmare. She knows where most things are, but there are a lot of clothes thrown over her chaise, books stacked all around, and it's generally just a little chaotic.
Do they let people into their room? Do they let them hang out there?: Anyone is welcome in her room and is welcome to hang out!! She has no shame about the fact that it is a hot mess. Come at her. Her door is normally closed, but almost always unlocked.
How is their room different from when they were younger?: Honestly, it's not much different. She obviously has nicer furniture because she's an adult who can afford it, but it's just as messy. It's probably a little more sophisticated, but she's always been fairly grown up in her aesthetic.

Anything else?: There are five million pillows on her bed.
Some updates:
BEDROOM RESPONSES: Kitty
What's their general aesthetic/color palette?: Very cluttery and lived in. The overhead light never goes on, in favor of warm lamplight. Her furniture probably came with the house, it's dark wood and antique. Decorations include a haphazard mix of band posters, framed portraits of Lockheed and her mother and father, any kitschy art that she found particularly amusing at any point (3 little ghosts around the room, for instance,) and an entire wall meticulously pinned with every polaroid, photobooth picture, movie ticket stub, especially embarrassing headlines and tabloid shots that she's ever acquired with the X-Men. There's a big red cushy armchair by the window that always has a mug or two scattered near it that she's forgotten to take to the kitchen. A dying cactus lingers near the window, too. Bookshelves line the walls, with both all of her books and more mementos. A full corner of the room is for Lockheed; she built him a small castle as befits a dragon with all the comforts a small lizard guy could want, including various levels of perches around the room.
What's their most prized possession?:Her polaroid wall or the very fancy chess set that always sits out on a small table, a chair opposite ready for a contender.
How organized are they?: Surprisingly quite, but the system's not immediately apparent to anyone but her. Her books on the shelf are sorted by color but also subject. Her clothes are folded and put away, usually. Even the polaroid wall arrangement has a method to its madness.
Do they let people into their room? Do they let them hang out there?: It would be very hypocritical for her to say no to this. Her door's almost always open and people are welcome.
How is their room different from when they were younger?: A lot of it is the same and built upon, but she's hidden any stuffed animals, and the posters and artwork on the walls have become just a little more sophisticated. And of course, notably, there's one queen sized bed in this room now, and only one person's stuff. She roomed with Jean, before.

BEDROOM: Bobby
What's their general aesthetic/color palette?: tbd, i don't think he has much design acumen though lmao
What's their most prized possession?: some modest amount of shrimp in an appropriately sized tank. let's say... 10ish, because i didn't want to fall down the research rabbit hole. they're blue, a different blue, white, and also this blue. if none of these can live together then they'remake-believe, idc. ANYWAYS, he claims he knows them all by name and said names are stereotypical dog ones like Champ, Rex, Fido, Rover, Spot, and Luna.
How organized are they?: his room's neat until you open drawers, into which he just shoves shit.
Do they let people into their room? Do they let them hang out there?: bobby doesn't lock his door and loves it when people want to hang out.
How is their room different from when they were younger?: he knows how to fold his clothes now and the fantastic 4 posters are gone.

Anything else?: STILL PONDERING
BEDROOM: Scott
What's their general aesthetic/color palette?: Scott's color perception sucks so he keeps things entirely black/white/grey for simplicity. Likes art-deco-inspired geometric patterns, but nothing too flashy or busy. Furniture is all straight-edged boxes. Cares more about practicality than aesthetics, but is picky about fabric textures and will splurge for high quality bedding. General vibe.
What's their most prized possession?: The very first ruby quartz visor Xavier gave him when he was 15, which Scott keeps on display in a glass case on a bookshelf. (Also doubles as a backup visor in an emergency.)
He doesn't have a whole lot of personal items out in the open, but the shelf also features a couple of model airplanes (which he built himself when he was a teen) and the brushed steel magnet board behind his desk has a few pictures. A group photo of the original X-Men with Xavier, one of himself and Kurt with Xavier, a polaroid of Jean and Kitty (courtesy of Kitty), and a graduation photo of his brother Alex. (He used to have a photobooth strip of himself and Madelyne too, but that's gone right into a drawer.)
How organized are they?: Pathologically. Every item has a designated place. His clothing is arranged in a system by style and color. He makes the bed every morning and never leaves socks on the floor. Scott has his room laid out so he could navigate it perfectly if he was blind.
Do they let people into their room? Do they let them hang out there?: Does not want people in his room, but won't turn them out if they insist. If he wants to socialize, he'll venture out to the common areas.
How is their room different from when they were younger?: Scott only has memories of living in a group home (bunk beds) or in the care of a criminal (bleak), so the mansion was a huge upgrade for him. For awhile there he was content to never ask for anything more, but Kurt forced him to redecorate, especially when he got too tall for his bed.
Discussion Link: LINK
Anything else?: His dresser always has an extra pair of sunglasses and an extra visor. His bedside table has two options for sleep: a weighted eye mask, and ruby quartz sleep goggles that still allow vision. His bathroom cabinet has waterproof goggles, although he usually just showers with his eyes closed.
BEDROOM: Paige
What's their general aesthetic/color palette?: A mix of farm girl aesthetic (earth tones, gingham and tiny flower prints, natural wood, nothing fancy) and Organized. Every box is labeled and has its place, every book aligned perfectly on the shelf, and her desk looks like it was set up for pinterest. She doesn't have a lot of possession in general.
What's their most prized possession?: Toss up between her father's guitar and Dr. Fluppy.
How organized are they?: Extremely, though she's no Scott Summers. She does know where to find exactly every piece of homework and exam she's taken since arriving at Xavier's.
Do they let people into their room? Do they let them hang out there?: Yes! Paige is happy to host, and doesn't fuss when her things are moved around. She will absolutely reorganize the moment they leave, though. She's never really had the luxury of privacy, so she's pretty open about sharing her space.
How is their room different from when they were younger?: When Paige first arrived she had a roommate, but now she's off on her own and... nothing has changed. At all.

OFFICE RESPONSES
OFFICE: Kurt
What's the general vibe of their office?: Warm, comfortable, a little chaotic. Usually several more glasses are on his desk than is actually needed because Kurt keeps forgetting he already has one. He clearly favors mid-century modern furniture.
How organized are they?: Not very. He can always find what he needs eventually, but any time he's asked for records about his class or the institute as a whole he has to search around. This goes for physical and digital files.
Do they have anything professional on display?: Are swords considered professional for him? Because he does have a pair of them displayed above his desk. Along with that are shelves lined with plays and other books. There are also a few scented candles just in case he ever needs to try and get rid of the lingering sulfur smell in the air.
Do they have anything personal on display?: A large oil painting of the Bavarian Alps near where Kurt grew up, and an original vintage framed poster of an Errol Flynn movie. Both were gifts from Xavier, naturally. There are also a great deal of photographs scattered around on shelves and walls. Some of the photos are from travels, and most feature the X-Men. One notable framed photo is of just him, Scott and Charles when they were all a lot younger.

Anything else?: Kurt doesn't have an assigned classroom, instead he just teaches Drama out of the auditorium.
OFFICE: Emma
What's the general vibe of their office?: Sophisticated and professional. It looks more like the office of a Fortune 500 CEO than a high school teacher, with nice curtains, heavy wooden furniture, and a state of the art computer. It's not unwelcoming but it's rather serious. Every single pen in the office is a fountain pen or the most expensive roller ball pen you've ever set eyes on.
How organized are they?: In direct contrast to her bedroom, Emma's office is well-organized and, while not spartan, is much less chaotic than her room. Even her drawers are well-organized, and her desk doesn't have a lot of clutter, with mostly only things actively in use laid out on it. Very few things in the room appear to have no purpose.
Do they have anything professional on display?: A philanthropic award sits on the top of one of her bookshelves, and she's got her high school diploma framed and hanging on the wall because she thinks it's funny.
Do they have anything personal on display?: On her desk there's a photo of the original X-men when they were younger, smiling and happy, and a photo of her and Christian a few years ago, sun-kissed and modelesque.

Anything else?: No kitten posters for Emma
OFFICE RESPONSES: Kitty
What's the general vibe of their office?:This is definitely a workspace more than anything. It features a very advanced computer with several monitors, a workspace/bench with lots of complicated-looking little tools. There's a big incredibly comfortable leather couch mostly for student/visitor use.
How organized are they?: Digitally? Impeccable organization. Every file has a home. Nothing out of place. Physically? Eh, sorta. She has stacks of unsorted papers and diagrams that mean nothing even to her, but all her reference books are in a system.
Do they have anything professional on display?: Her online university diploma is framed but shoved into a the corner of a bookshelf.
Do they have anything personal on display?: A little ship in the bottle on her desk, and little plush replicas of the original 8 X-Men that she uses as stress toys. Nothing like throwing your friends around in a moment of creative blockage. Perches for Lockheed are abundant in this space, too.

Anything else?:
BONUS OFFICE/HIDEOUT: On the third floor or so, between two rooms that have long been forgotten, baby Kitty and Jean made a little hideout that no one can access without their permission by nature; it has no doors. Kitty still hangs out there pretty often. It's from there that she plays louder music so no one can come turn it off (sorry) in moments where she has to think, and it still boasts the same tattered rug over questionable floorboards and sofa she pulled in from a curb. Characters can totally know where this is by now, but probably can't get in unless they have powers that allow it, or are accompanied by Kitty. This is where she always kept all her contraband as a teen and secrets now as an adult.
OFFICE: Bobby
What's the general vibe of their office?: bobby's been looking for his ~teaching vibe~ so it changes every month or two -- there's been A Very Collegiate Experience, A Weird ?Gothic? Moment, This Feels Like Office Space, and Bobby That's Too Much Ice For Other People Please Dial it Back.
How organized are they?: his office doesn't look like a mess but he can NEVER find the files or books he needs.
Do they have anything professional on display?: his bachelor's of economics with a minor in accounting from UCLA. his CPA cert.
Do they have anything personal on display?: framed, smiling desk photos of the x-men, at least one of the champions and/or defenders. a super shitty iceman mug he bought from a tourist booth in manhattan; it looks makes him look a bit like sully from monsters inc. a couple warm blankets — his office gets pretty chilly when he's been concentrating hard on stuff and visitors occasionally complain. he has one hidden folder full of articles about himself that he scanned to send to his parents. (he didn't get many responses.)
Discussion Link: LINK
Anything else?: bobby spends more time in his office than his bedroom because he wants to be available to as many people as possible whenever possible, and because the office gives him a grounding sense of ~purpose~
