Yes, there's a lil' metaplot to help kick things off! (Sorry, Charles.) This will continue on in the background for a while as other matters take center stage, just to help keep the group focused on each other and the game moving along.

Kurt is taking it hard, but he's not letting anyone know that if he can help it. Charles is his only parental figure, and even though they argued sometimes, their relationship was very important to him. Forcing himself to pick up the pieces with a smile is difficult, but he's doing it. He's trying to be a warm and consistent pillar for the team by shoving all of his problems to the back. He has all of these younger siblings to take care of, and he's dedicated. He prays for Charles every Sunday.
like kurt, evie considers charles xavier one of her only true parental figures at this point in life. his current status has dredged up a lot of trauma around abandonment for her, even if he's physically still present. she checks in often to "heal" him with her music.
her mark is in the center of her chest and feels VERY conspicuous to her. not her beautiful unblemished skin!!

Emma is probably a little more upset about this than she lets on - it presents more as anger than anything else. They need to sort this out!! She will take lots of time to try to gently probe his mind and see if she can reach him at all.
Her mark is on the front of her right shoulder, which she finds very annoying because she has to be mindful to cover it when she's out in the world as herself. This is often achieved by the use of a long term temporary tattoo of Atlas.
Kitty doesn't feel that she is allowed to be as sad or scared about this as everyone else. Here lies some guilt about not coming to the school when he first asked. And sort of resisting his help when she got there. And calling him a jerk that time. For all appearances therefore, she's lightly somber, but unaffected. Her involvement mostly manifests by trying to find who could possibly be responsible through hacking means sometimes and others just popping by through her team's walls to offer them a distraction or consolation in her way. (Bad). Her mark is on the back of her neck, meaning that she has to wear a low pony instead of a high one to hide it, and that's suffering, truly.
Absolutely nothing that ever happens to the team truly phases Jean, so she seems like she's taking this in relative stride compared to everyone else. She has spent a lot of time lately in the Astral Plane looking for him, clues, or other universes where this has happened before but hasn't really turned up anything useful.
Scott, part of the orphan club, is not taking Xavier's absence well at all, which mostly just means that he's being even more Scott than usual. He's obsessively reviewing files on known mutant telepaths who could've done this to the professor. He's collating news sources on unexplained occurrences around the globe. He's in the Danger Room at all hours, by himself, running drills for every possible contingency. He's eager to be helpful to the others (give him a job!) but sometimes needs to be reminded he's not a one man team.
His mark is on the back of his right hand, which Scott will not imbue with any insane portentous meanings.

Manuel has always had a complicated relationship with Xavier. The man spent a lot of time ensuring that he wouldn't be the worst version of himself that his powers could enable him to be. While this is probably a good thing, it also left him feeling resentful. Deemed fundamentally broken by the man that was supposed to be lifting people like him up.
Now that Xavier is comatose, though, he feels a bit like the north star's gone out of his sky. What's he supposed to do if he needs to get himself back on track? Not that he thinks he needs Xavier's guidance. But what if he does? Regardless, he wants the man back here where he belongs. He thinks back on the day he found Xavier often, trying to pick out something that he might've missed which could bring clarity to the situation. But he never does and the clearest thing in his memory about the experience is the agonizing mental jolt he got for his trouble. He's tried to sense the man's emotions on multiple occasions since this started, but nothing has ever come from it.
His mark is over his heart...which he hates. :) This feels like a dig, Charles.

i'll flesh this out more later, quick note for sake of having something written down:
bobby's having some feelings about bullshit happening to yet another withholding father figure but because he's bobby, he's cracking jokes at inappropriate times and not talking about his feelings on the matter.
his mark is in the hollow at the base of his throat, in the spot where his breath tightens when he's starting to feel anxious or panic. (which obviously never happen because he's so chill.)
however this made me howl
