Piotr is, unsurprisingly, a gladiator, and he's very good. Somewhere deep down he's still uncomfortable with violence, but he's managed to separate out that part of his life so much that he can go into the arena, absolutely wreck people, and then live with himself afterwards. It's incredibly unhealthy and leaves him with a very chaotic temper!! He just tries to not think about or not talk about any of this, thanks. Head in the sand. He's emotionally beaten down enough that he doesn't believe a rebellion would work. I figure he got pulled in mid to late teens?? This is still in the works for him, specifically, but I wanted to give this space just in case anyone wanted to flesh out their stuff more <3
Deets re: resistance - I imagine there kind of being two parts of it, one being the centrally organized chunk that exists outside of Mojo's control and is essentially always on the lam. They all know each other and often live together in small units.
The other part is embedded in Mojo's crap, double agents who provide intel and can hopefully subtly cause problems when needed. These members have a handler in the central resistance, but otherwise are generally unaware of who else is involved in the dispersed part of the resistance.

Star's role in this is a given, BUT...
Manuel had a short-lived stint in the gladiatorial arena before it became apparent to Mojo that he would be much more useful elsewhere. And since it was apparent to Manuel that he would be much more alive elsewhere, he went along with it. He's now Mojo's long-suffering right hand, occupying the role typically filled by Major Domo in the comics; he helps to coordinate the programming and uses his powers to boost/direct audience reception and to direct participants if needed. Sometimes, people just need a little push to get appropriately brutal. It's a thankless job and he's often the recipient of Mojo's ire whenever things don't go as expected, but compared to everyone else, his life is a fairly safe and comfortable one.
He knows about the rebellion, but has never gotten involved. He's too concerned with his own life for that and doesn't believe it will get them anywhere. This is probably for the best, though, as he is one of several people that've had their eyes replaced with cybernetic cameras to captured those unfiltered, behind the scenes moments. For the fans! Thanks for that, Spiral. (I stg this shit is canon. And Betsy isn't here, so...)

Kasey's initial description: "SO. The idea is that in this timeline, Mojo got his slimy lil' hands on a means of mutant detection and has been using it for the last couple of decades to abduct young mutants and 'cast' them in his programs. You're all stars, baby! 🤩 So all the characters are some kind of wild glam caricatures of themselves, shaped by a years in a chaotic world in which they can never escape the spotlight for very long. While many of them are gladiators, others are musicians, dancers, and other types of performers. Anything that can entertain! Though no role in Mojoworld is without danger and they're all functionally unwillingly living in a deadly reality show.
