HELLO so my current (somewhat wishy-washy) plans for Paige's AU are: - Mutant sentiments are Not Good, so even doing good things as a mutant (like, you know, stopping bad mutants) is not horribly well-received. Mutant registration, monitoring, etc. Because of this, the X-Men operate as small cells across the US, trying their best to do good despite everything - Xavier's school technically still exists, but it's very covert and only takes in a very small number of students to avoid much attention. In general, only those in the most dire circumstances because of their powers, or who have such destructive powers that Xavier thinks they could use the support, are taken in. - The Guthries are, predictably, not having a great time in this timeline due to the plethora of mutant children, but, you know :) - Paige (and Jono) run an X-Men branch based in Nashville together. They're dating, and are very good at their jobs. But also it's rough as hell to keep wanting to do good when everyone treats you like shit?? - Magneto is Misbehaving and has a much larger group of supporters given the general vibes of everything
For Emma's AU: - Paige is a junior Marshal 😌 (I need to figure out her place in everyone else's too) - Feel free to have your new kids be yet another one of Emma's children, townspeople (including mayors! sheriffs! whatever!), whatever!! They can be dead, too (sorry Warren).

Kurt was never found by Xavier in this universe, and ended up falling in with Magneto's crew as an adult instead. His life has nnnnnnot been great, trying to survive on his own with his obvious appearance.
Warren still has his wings hidden under stylish trenchcoats, and while he doesn't feel like he can fight alongside the X-Men anymore, he covertly helps fund them. He's a peer of the group this time, in his mid-20's!
Jono is entirely too competent in this timeline and nobody should accept that it's actually him. ANYWAY. I think he started off as his normal fuck up self but ended up rising to the occasion because there's a more active/constant threat, they're operating in smaller units and he wants to take care of his people, and the like. Whatever the reason, though, he's got a much better grasp on his powers (he can use them without blowing himself up, he can use them for other things like flight, he's a solid telepath, etc.) and is co-leading a lil' X-Men unit with Paige. The two of them are romantically involved and shockingly functional about it. Look at him go. (This timeline makes 367!Jono feel...intensely insecure. Wtf actually.)

Probably Rogue is helping run a branch probably in the Mississippi/New Orleans area? Something like this.
Hello and welcome to high school! I haven't planned anything interpersonal yet, but this one's based on the idea of a live (CW drama type) adaptation of X-Men Evolution. For ease, this is roundabout season 1 plotwise, where there's hints of Magneto stirring and Mystique is the principal of Bayville High School, where most of the X-Men somehow go. She's recruiting a team of mutants too, to work with Magneto. Rogue was pursued by the X-Men, but Mystique and Destiny interfered with that recruitment, making them seem adversarial, so she defaulted the Brotherhood instead and maintains a tenuous frenemyship with the X-Men. They all live at Xavier's mansion but go to normal high school and spend most of their out of school time training and recruiting and going on missions. Rogue keeps accidentally helping them, showing her true colors. She's 16, reclusive and pouty and very goth.
Of course feel free to make your kid a student even if they weren't one in the show/hadn't been introduced yet, or a staff member, or someone who has functioned as an ally or villain on a mission or whatever!

Emma's also going to be Brotherhood and I imagine the vibes she and Rogue throw out are something like this. Generally is not helpful towards the X-Men but likes Rogue, so she doesn't interfere with her shenanigans and occasionally maybe isn't as bad as she could be. Refuses to live in the nasty boarding house, so she's mentally manipulated someone (maybe Warren? lmfaoooo) into paying for a nice apartment for her nearby. :) I'm making her head cheerleader because it's funny.
Iiiii do not know what to do with Paige at all, might wait and see what other ppl are doing, but I at least wanted to put Emma down!!

Kurt's a new X-Men recruit after Xavier found him in Germany, so he tells everyone he's an exchange student :) He exclusively presents himself with an image inducer, and is still trying to find his footing in school.
Warren just barely graduated, a little bit older than the rest. Fabulously wealthy, of course. He's trying to balance college, family drama, and X-Men duties, aaaaand might be paying for Emma to live in a nice apartment :)

My vague thoughts for Warren's AU! - Apocalypse and his Horsemen are in full force, which means Warren is the Archangel of Death. - Cameron Hodge had Warren's real wings removed, and Warren went into a spiral where he became Archangel. - The setting is kind of post-apocalyptic Mad Max-y, so everyone is living on the edges of society in cool ripped up clothing and wild vehicles. Cities burning, end of the world, etc. A lot of the characters will probably be part of a rag tag resistance group to take Apocalypse down. - Four Horsemen are who??? Warren is the angel of Death, but if anyone wants to claim their characters as the angels of Famine, War or Pestilence, go for it. :))) They are overpowered and causing a lot of destruction.
If it's cool with you, I'm going to let this be the one timeline where I acknowledge the (god awful) Clan Akkaba stuff for Jono. Basically, this means that his family is descended from Apocalypse, his ancestors were deep in the cult life, and that he currently looks like this: x/x. RIP. 💀
Anyway, he's still running with the X-Men/the rag tag resistance group because fuck all that, but...you know. It's Weird. In 367 Jono's great grandfather lived with his family growing up and had a lot of mental health issues that included some very similar delusions to this. :| So Jono hates that it's real somewhere. Grandpa how did you know.
For Manuel......I'm tempted to keep leaning into his 'a villain everywhere but here' vibe and make him a Horseman. 😌 Maybe War because amp up his powers enough and he could certainly incite one. But IDK, happy to adapt based on what other folks are thinking.

I THINK my plan is to draw from AoA for both Emma and Paige because why not 😌 - Emma was partially lobotomized against her will at some point in the semi-recent past. I AM going to be mean - this fucked up her powers and she has none!! Is still fighting against Apocalypse and would be even if she weren't functionally a human now. Slightly more reserved. Still ready to ruin some lives. - Paige is a brunette because ?? they did that to her and I think that's hysterical. Most of the Guthries are on the side of Apocalypse, but she's fighting for the greater good despite missing her family. Her powers are way better - she has more nuanced control, can shift into liquid and energy-based forms both in full and partially, and can turn into someone else entirely if she so desires. She's a lot more cocky and outgoing to shield herself emotionally from all the shit going down and the bad things she has to do. She's totally doing great!! Also she's dating Jono, and the fact that this is one of multiple universes, including her own, where this seems to be happening, is definitely not important in any way.
So for this one I think Kitty was a well beloved revolutionary and engineer for all of the resistance's cool car needs. She died recently; details and reasons pending, but I feel like probaably something to do with trusting the wrong person a little too much and not phasing around them and. Welp.
Rogue I am still thinking about details for but she's definitely not kissing Magneto, I feel compelled to say again. If Remy's a horseman she left any resistance to go solo and get him back so ppl can be mad at her for this at will also oops.

The idea is that in this timeline, Mojo got his slimy lil' hands on a means of mutant detection and has been using it for the last couple of decades to abduct young mutants and 'cast' them in his programs. You're all stars, baby! 🤩 So all the characters are some kind of wild glam caricatures of themselves, shaped by a years in a chaotic world in which they can never escape the spotlight for very long. While many of them are gladiators, others are musicians, dancers, and other types of performers. Anything that can entertain! Though no role in Mojoworld is without danger and they're all functionally unwillingly living in a deadly reality show.
Some have fully drunk the Kool-Aid and are convinced they're living their best lives. Some are struggling to endure and survive. Some are involved in a rebellion that's quietly striving to break free and topple Mojo's regime, à la Dazzler and Longshot.
Jono would've been a musician for a long time (and pretty well brainwashed into accepting the situation for what it was), until he fully burned through his corporeal shape and got tossed into the gladiatorial side of things. He's a recent recruit to the rebellion. In terms of powers, he's more destructive than ever, a potent telepath (nobody tell Emma), and can reform his physical body, but only for minutes (or maybe hours) at a time before he falls apart again. Weirdly, his other self has kinda made peace with that; he's got bigger problems, you know?

OK SO, plans... Emma is essentially a portable holodeck/VR headset, and provides individualized entertainment for only the most special of Mojoworld inhabitants. Mojo gets a particularly big boost from this since it's very personal and comes with a lot more investment and enjoyment. Emma hates this :) deeply :) but plays at polite while she's part of the rebellion. She's invested a lot of time and effort into helping Jono hone is psionic abilities. She wants to murder Mojo so bad.
Paige is a gladiator and was taken when she was young enough that she doesn't remember anything BUT Mojoworld. Her powers are extremely developed and she can become non-solids, including energy, and has much more fine-tuned control. Her main goal is, of course, survival, and she generally tries not to get too attached to anyone because she knows deep down she's a little soft, but, you know, that's sort of hard to do. Did accidentally get attached to Jono (oops), and sometimes just hangs out with him in her own energy form. It's not anything though. Don't worry about it. Is not part of the rebellion.

Kurt is a ✨STAR✨. He's alternatively a acrobat and a gladiator, and one of the shiniest jewels in Mojo's metaphorical crown. He's in kind of a gilded cage situation and doesn't really know any of his fellow X-Men unless it was going up against them in the ring, or a chance meeting while they were snooping* around or something. :') Has kiiiind of drank the kool-aid because he's been pretty isolated since he was a child, but also feels some sympathy for the rebellion. His powers are at their peak and he's very dangerous with his swords. (*Maybe met a rebel who was creeping around and hid them in his quarters so they could go undetected?)
Warren is relegated to the infirmary for his healing blood, which is significantly more potent here. He's trying to assist the rebellion by smuggling them supplies, but is kept on a pretty short leash as a valuable post-gladiatorial healer.
Fairy tale world where magic is real. (Once Upon a Time vibes if you've seen that show.) Non-specific European medieval fantasy, many beautiful princes and princesses of neighboring kingdoms, witches and fairies and bridge trolls exist. Tone can fall anywhere between Grimm Brothers or Disney.
Laura is Pinocchio, a wooden puppet blessed by a fairy who dreams of becoming a real girl. She's been separated from her woodcarver mother and wanders the world having adventures, crossing paths with everyone's characters.
People who are born with special powers are called "witchbreed" (for anyone who wants to play their character with their mutant powers intact). Xavier can be doing... something... in this world if we need an excuse for all the characters to know each other. Take inspiration from any fairy tale you like or make up your own fairy tale!!

Illyana's world is a 90s/00s sitcom inspired NYC. Nobody is a mutant. Everyone is a normal person who lives in the city. Blue Team are Illyana's quirky friendgroup and the "main characters". Gold Team and everyone else are side characters and other patrons of the bar which the group hangs out/Kitty is the bartender of/potentially they just own? It's their bar/coffee shop/local hangout. This whole world operates on Sitcom Logic (you all have beautiful huge apartments even if you don't work a real job, everyone is snarky and witty and ridiculous, time is amorphous and the status quo rarely changes, Main Characters can do whatever they want without much repercussion, etc).
Illyana is an aspiring indie musician and thrift store employee. She is Scott's step-sister, and their dads are married to one another. She is Kitty's roommate, and they live above the bar/coffee shop/business everyone hangs out in. She is impish, mischievous, sociable, kind, artistic, and a little softhearted. She is the heart of the friendgroup, and close with everyone.

In this John Wick inspired crapsack world, mutants exist in a clandestine parallel society to humans and must keep their powers secret from the public. Every mutant must either be aligned with the Thieves Guild or the Assassins Guild, two secret criminal societies that have been at war with each other for over a century. Anyone who isn't aligned with one of the Guilds, or doesn't conceal their mutant powers from humans, is a fugitive at risk of being hunted down by Guild members. Just as in John Wick, although the Guild Conflict is the primary thing going on, they are all always being hired by mysterious sources to do thief/assassin work also. There is just an endless industry for this.
Remy is the heir apparent of the Thieves Guild, and betrothed (married?) to Bella Donna Boudreaux, the heir apparent of the Assassins Guild. I was going to make them already married but now I kind of want to set the Quantum Leap during their wedding day for the drama of it all 😌 Would love for someone to play the role of consigliere to the Thieves/Lebeau family
Because I think I'll be doing her quantum leap and have shifted a few details in my head already! Kitty's AU is very similar to 367's future with some changes. Something transpired in the world that made the Days of Future Past mission an astounding success with massive future implications. Senator Kelly turned on his former stance and became an advocate for mutant rights. He spent the rest of his career campaigning for pro-mutant legislation. The Sentinel program was never enacted, nor was the registration program. There became little need for X-Men, so much of the team wandered away, Kitty included. She went to therapy, then to grad school, and then she went into politics. She is currently the president of the United States. She's married to a dimension hopping so it's NOT WEIRD (it's a little weird) Rachel Summers, and they have two kids. Almost everyone is very happy.
I'm picturing this sort of vaguely uncanny valley world with very bright colors, everyone's happy. It's not an illusion, but sort of seems like it could be, maybe due to the fact it's not really what happened.

Set in a fictional turn of the century version of New York, the Xavier Academy is on the cutting edge of all sorts of fantastical inventions... and uncovering darker, more dangerous secrets. Mutants are widely feared, and have taken to forming secret societies. The X-Men are one of those secret societies, comprised of staff members of the Xavier Academy. Professor Xavier tried to use his position to hire mutants, and it's a sort of investigation vibe rather than an ass-kicking one.
The Brotherhood is an underground cult trying to resurrect the unknowable archdemon Azazel, so they can take over the world and have mutants rule society. The X-Men oppose them and are trying thwart their plans, as it would definitely lead to a way worse scenario. A week ago, Professor Xavier was found murdered, and the X-Men have to figure out who and why. It's all Lovecraft and Miskatonic University vibes.
Kurt's the academy's priest, a position given to him because he can't hide his appearance and get an actual job. He's a lonely, reclusive person who has been listening to Manny's confessions. His only friends are the X-Men, but..... he's secretly being converted to the cult. :)))

Just copy-pasted: Emma's alternate self lives in a universe where everyone is a mutant - most people don't have horribly useful or strong powers, but it means that there's no overarching stigma. And also, it's the 1880s!!
Emma is one of the founding members of the Hellfire Trading Company, which ostensibly is a trading company but is actually essentially a far reaching racket in present day Arizona. They collect protection money, rob people, and generally just enrich themselves. Emma, for her part, does a little bit of good on the side (raising orphans/unwanted children - the Hellions), though she does include them in the Hellfire Club's schemes. On the surface, she simply runs an orphanage and a saloon. 😇
The X-men are a special U.S. Marshals assigned to deal with the group, given how many towns and roads they're hitting, but they are very good at what they do and catching them in the act or confirming illicit activities has been difficult.

Piotr is, unsurprisingly, a gladiator, and he's very good. Somewhere deep down he's still uncomfortable with violence, but he's managed to separate out that part of his life so much that he can go into the arena, absolutely wreck people, and then live with himself afterwards. It's incredibly unhealthy and leaves him with a very chaotic temper!! He just tries to not think about or not talk about any of this, thanks. Head in the sand. He's emotionally beaten down enough that he doesn't believe a rebellion would work. I figure he got pulled in mid to late teens?? This is still in the works for him, specifically, but I wanted to give this space just in case anyone wanted to flesh out their stuff more <3
Deets re: resistance - I imagine there kind of being two parts of it, one being the centrally organized chunk that exists outside of Mojo's control and is essentially always on the lam. They all know each other and often live together in small units.
The other part is embedded in Mojo's crap, double agents who provide intel and can hopefully subtly cause problems when needed. These members have a handler in the central resistance, but otherwise are generally unaware of who else is involved in the dispersed part of the resistance.

In terms of powers, he's more destructive than ever, a potent telepath (nobody tell Emma), and can reform his physical body, but only for minutes (or maybe hours) at a time before he falls apart again. Weirdly, his other self has kinda made peace with that; he's got bigger problems, you know?

Paige is a gladiator and was taken when she was young enough that she doesn't remember anything BUT Mojoworld. Her powers are extremely developed and she can become non-solids, including energy, and has much more fine-tuned control. Her main goal is, of course, survival, and she generally tries not to get too attached to anyone because she knows deep down she's a little soft, but, you know, that's sort of hard to do. Did accidentally get attached to Jono (oops), and sometimes just hangs out with him in her own energy form. It's not anything though. Don't worry about it. Is not part of the rebellion.

Warren is relegated to the infirmary for his healing blood, which is significantly more potent here. He's trying to assist the rebellion by smuggling them supplies, but is kept on a pretty short leash as a valuable post-gladiatorial healer.
Laura's AU
Laura is Pinocchio, a wooden puppet blessed by a fairy who dreams of becoming a real girl. She's been separated from her woodcarver mother and wanders the world having adventures, crossing paths with everyone's characters.
People who are born with special powers are called "witchbreed" (for anyone who wants to play their character with their mutant powers intact). Xavier can be doing... something... in this world if we need an excuse for all the characters to know each other. Take inspiration from any fairy tale you like or make up your own fairy tale!!

She is Kitty's roommate, and they live above the bar/coffee shop/business everyone hangs out in. She is impish, mischievous, sociable, kind, artistic, and a little softhearted. She is the heart of the friendgroup, and close with everyone.

Kitty's AU is very similar to 367's future with some changes. Something transpired in the world that made the Days of Future Past mission an astounding success with massive future implications. Senator Kelly turned on his former stance and became an advocate for mutant rights. He spent the rest of his career campaigning for pro-mutant legislation. The Sentinel program was never enacted, nor was the registration program. There became little need for X-Men, so much of the team wandered away, Kitty included. She went to therapy, then to grad school, and then she went into politics. She is currently the president of the United States. She's married to a dimension hopping so it's NOT WEIRD (it's a little weird) Rachel Summers, and they have two kids. Almost everyone is very happy.
I'm picturing this sort of vaguely uncanny valley world with very bright colors, everyone's happy. It's not an illusion, but sort of seems like it could be, maybe due to the fact it's not really what happened.

The Brotherhood is an underground cult trying to resurrect the unknowable archdemon Azazel, so they can take over the world and have mutants rule society. The X-Men oppose them and are trying thwart their plans, as it would definitely lead to a way worse scenario. A week ago, Professor Xavier was found murdered, and the X-Men have to figure out who and why. It's all Lovecraft and Miskatonic University vibes.
Kurt's the academy's priest, a position given to him because he can't hide his appearance and get an actual job. He's a lonely, reclusive person who has been listening to Manny's confessions. His only friends are the X-Men, but..... he's secretly being converted to the cult. :)))
Emma's AU
Emma is one of the founding members of the Hellfire Trading Company, which ostensibly is a trading company but is actually essentially a far reaching racket in present day Arizona. They collect protection money, rob people, and generally just enrich themselves. Emma, for her part, does a little bit of good on the side (raising orphans/unwanted children - the Hellions), though she does include them in the Hellfire Club's schemes. On the surface, she simply runs an orphanage and a saloon. 😇
The X-men are a special U.S. Marshals assigned to deal with the group, given how many towns and roads they're hitting, but they are very good at what they do and catching them in the act or confirming illicit activities has been difficult.

The idea is that in this timeline, Mojo got his slimy lil' hands on a means of mutant detection and has been using it for the last couple of decades to abduct young mutants and 'cast' them in his programs. You're all stars, baby! 🤩 So all the characters are some kind of wild glam caricatures of themselves, shaped by a years in a chaotic world in which they can never escape the spotlight for very long. While many of them are gladiators, others are musicians, dancers, and other types of performers. Anything that can entertain! Though no role in Mojoworld is without danger and they're all functionally unwillingly living in a deadly reality show.
Some have fully drunk the Kool-Aid and are convinced they're living their best lives. Some are struggling to endure and survive. Some are involved in a rebellion that's quietly striving to break free and topple Mojo's regime, à la Dazzler and Longshot."
Piotr is, unsurprisingly, a gladiator, and he's very good. Somewhere deep down he's still uncomfortable with violence, but he's managed to separate out that part of his life so much that he can go into the arena, absolutely wreck people, and then live with himself afterwards. It's incredibly unhealthy and leaves him with a very chaotic temper!! He just tries to not think about or not talk about any of this, thanks. Head in the sand. He's emotionally beaten down enough that he doesn't believe a rebellion would work. I figure he got pulled in mid to late teens?? This is still in the works for him, specifically, but I wanted to give this space just in case anyone wanted to flesh out their stuff more <3
Deets re: resistance - I imagine there kind of being two parts of it, one being the centrally organized chunk that exists outside of Mojo's control and is essentially always on the lam. They all know each other and often live together in small units.
The other part is embedded in Mojo's crap, double agents who provide intel and can hopefully subtly cause problems when needed. These members have a handler in the central resistance, but otherwise are generally unaware of who else is involved in the dispersed part of the resistance.
