Hi Hello! I have confirmed with Lyss that Kitty would've tried to/offered to run a D&D campaign for the team back in the day.

If your character could've been talked into this, pls let me know! Also, what class they would've played. ♥ Yes, I am asking for shenanigan reasons. Don't worry about it.

For Manuel, I'll say that he could've been convinced with a little work, but once he was in he was shamelessly into/good at the roleplay side. He probably played a Cleric (insert Zone of Truth jokes here) for some questionable deity or a Warlock depending on what other folks were into.

It was right away when she had been there like under a year so she was 15/16 and a teeny tiny geek who finally had friends to bully into nerd games if you need a mental picture.

Obviously she DMed and pored over handwritten campaigns for them that were probably always just a little too much like real world supervillain shenanigans, etc, but in D&D world. Big focus on dragons when Lockheed arrived. She thought this was cool and relevant and topical of her but she just might not be that creative.

Oh Kurt was 100% in, and took the roleplaying element quite seriously. He was torn between Bard and Swashbuckler Rogue, but also hemmed and hawed about how maybe he should play against type.

Scott is the kind of player who enjoys number crunching and overcomplicated combat, but is lackluster at roleplaying. Paladin is obvious for his personality (especially if the party needed to be rounded out by more healers or tanks) but he'd probably LOVE playing a Wizard. Unsure on school. Either Evocation for pure damage, or Divination for strategic utility.

bobby played a great old one warlock who thought he became tied to his patron when he ate a piece of too-far-gone food that contained a colony of sentient mold. his biggest asset at the table was as a calculator.

Teleportation Sickness!!!

As long as we're asking fun questions... being a passenger when Kurt teleports can range from disorienting to nauseating all the way up to just flat passing out. If he teleports someone in rapid succession and they're not used to it, they might just straight up faint. He sometimes uses this against enemies he wants to not hurt, but it's also kind of hard on him so..... last resort situation.

SO the question is, how tolerant is your character to being teleported??? He'll more readily grab people he knows can handle it.

i'd say bobby's fairly tolerant of it because he does all kinds of crazy ice slide combos, so he tosses himself to and fro constantly even sans kurt

I think Manuel can handle a typical teleport just fine, but a few back-to-back is likely to wreck him. Partially because his empathic sense is getting whiplash and partially because he's just delicate. 😌

Emma is very tolerant to this!!! We can discuss if she was just always kind of Fine but has become more fine over the years, or she built up the stamina, but please know if it was the latter she absolutely forced Kurt to practice with her until they both got a little sick from it lmfao.

Valentine's Speed Dating

HELLO, I'm planning on running a dumb Valentine's Speed Dating event on Feb 13th, and Emma is going to try to make everyone join! However, she can't make you 😌 so let me know if you want your kiddo to be involved or not. My plan is to 1) give everyone a couple of random NPCs for lulz, 2) run a little 'who can get the most phone numbers' game and 3) give everyone a place to do stupid stuff.

If you want to participate, lmk what gender(s) you want your character to be matched with for the NPCs. It doesn't have to be their actual preference - we can say someone got mixed up or whatever!! Just like, lmk before the post goes up lol.

Kurt talked Emma into taking dance lessons with him, and Kitty and Bobby are going to join them I believe??? I'll probably make a tiny ic/ooc for some goofs and such next week. Anyone else who wants to join is highly encouraged.

Kurt said it would be good training for body control and nonverbal communication, but made it clear that it's not required for the team lol

Kurt Goes Missing -- just planning for an old plot

Hiiii so I'm just ironing out the details of what happened when Kurt was lost in hell, these are messy sketches. I'd love input especially with Jean and Kitty since I think we talked about how they were the masterminds who solved this?? It's all very messy thoughts, not final.

BUT ANYWAY.

PLOT NAME/TAG: Hellbound
CANON PLOT?: Loosely based on The Draco (which is not worth reading lol)

SUMMARY: Mid-teleport, Kurt finds himself yanked down, crashing into a hot, dusty landscape. He’s immediately pursued by demonic creatures, and spends the next week escaping them. Eventually, however, he’s captured. Unable to teleport, he’s brought to meet the leader of wherever this is: Azazel. He informs Kurt that he’s his father, and it’s Kurt’s destiny to rule Hell with him so they can take over the mortal plane. Kurt’s teleportation is the key to Azazel’s freedom.

The next four months are a game of cat and mouse, with Kurt continuously escaping, getting caught, punished, refusing to go along with Azazel, and then repeating the process. Kurt was steadily slowing down and giving up on his wild escape attempts.

While Kurt is MIA, Scott Summers takes over as the leader and public face of the X-Men.

MEANWHILE... Something the X-Men do works and they finally locate Kurt (Jean finds him??). Kitty(??) discovers a way to breach the dimensional barrier so they can have a showdown with Azazel, rescue Kurt, and gtfo.

Unfortunately, they’re initially captured by Azazel’s minions, many of whom are his children and look a lot like Kurt. Azazel selects [Character A] and [Character B] as fun playthings for his minions, while the rest of the gang is dropped into a prison cell. [Character C] uses their powers to get the upper hand over a guard that intends to bring them to their execution, allowing the rest to escape.

[A] and [B] collaborate to escape and rescue Kurt where he’s being held hostage.

This all results in a major standoff with Azazel, and [Character ???] is able to [insert way to finish a demon] Azazel, ending the fight for now.

This gives the team enough time to escape, leaving Azazel stranded in the Brimstone Dimension once again. Azazel is furious with this defeat, now determined to kill the X-Men and get Kurt back (...or kill him if he keeps being difficult, he can always make more kids).

DISPLAY SUMMARY: While the X-Men are fighting [standard villain], Nightcrawler vanishes mid-teleport. It’s not until the dust has settled that the team realizes their leader is missing, trapped in Hell until they can find a way to get him back home.
CAST: Kurt Wagner, Evelyn Free, Emma Frost, Manuel de la Rocha, Bobby Drake, Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Kitty Pryde, Azazel (and other demonic minions)

Kitty was In It from the start, and kind of dumped everything else in favor of getting Kurt back.I think it would take some degree of power augmentation to allow Kitty's powers to shift between dimensions so it makes sense she hasn't been able to achieve this again, and that it took months to figure it out. (It was the Black Vortex in comics but then she became just a full transdimensional godKitty and we don't need that so something like, less.) Anyway would love it if she shifted the team into the dimension and out, and then got stuck in phasemode for days, but it's fine bc everyone's safe :(

A Line or Something? (X-Tinction Agenda Edition)

Hello! I'd like to fill in a blank space for my brain re:Genosha.

SO. Manuel was abducted and ended up on Genosha a while before the X-Tinction Agenda plot kicked off. This wasn't clocked by the group because he'd already been away from the institute (attending school/living in New York) and had established plans to be out of the country at the time (visiting family for the first time in a long time). Whoops.

Anywho, this means that when he was found on Genosha hooked up to a weird machine amplifying his powers and being used to control parts of the island's population against his will....it was a bit of a surprise! So, the blank is: I've never established who actually found him/rescued him. Manuel, ofc, doesn't remember the specifics of this anymore (thanks Emma! ♥), but it's something that I'd like to pin down as a player in case it ever comes up, in case anyone's interested in playing out some dramatic post-Genosha shit and maybe now feeling weird about it because the other person no longer remembers it, in case it impacted their dynamics in some way, blah blah. You know, standard roleplay stuff.

This doesn't have to a PC, of course, but I thought I'd ask! If you have any interest, lmk~

one of scott's most stereotypical boy traits is that he's really into cars and fixing engines. exact models undecided but he has a harley davidson motorcycle (18th birthday gift) and a vintage porsche he's been working on

the children are not!! allowed!! to drive either but i like to think that sometimes when scott is like "this troubled student needs a quiet activity" he'll take them out to the garage and teach them about car maintenance

While the X-Men were on Genosha, Jean had a backup mentor heart-to-heart with Erik and told him all about her multiversal awareness and mysteriously nerfed powers, since she's been struggling with them recently and can't talk to Charles about it. He convinced her to stay on Genosha for awhile so they can further investigate her missing telepathy together and she agreed. She'll still be reachable via text/etc off-screen, although she is bad about texting people back and always has been. She also needs someone to teach Civics/Econ at the school for her, if any current characters are up to the task.

In case anything happens with the marks which incapacitates the team, Illyana, codename Magik, is accompanying the X-Men back home so she can keep an eye on things and go fetch Jean ASAP if anything happens. This does mean that she is functionally spying on them for Erik right now but she promises to behave, probably. Illyana has been a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants/Acolytes since 2019 circa Days of Future Past. Anyone who was on Genosha post X-Tinction Agenda can know her, although she was only there about 30% of the time to deliver this energy and then disappear again.

PLANS & METAPLOT

Hey soooo. Since I'm moving up the timeline for seconds, expect a lil' ramp up in the metaplot timeline as well. I want to give a heads up on this in case it feels rushed or anything, but just know that solving a mystery here will be more of an opening up than a wrapping up for metaplot. ♥ Trust the process! Or something!

Anyway, this'll mean: expect some mark updates this week and a bigger piece of the puzzle that'll play out over the course of the following week (March 24th - March 30th). You'll all get the details at the start of the week so you can ponder/plan/play around accordingly for an event later in the week (probably March 28th or 29th).

After that, there'll probably be a little lull since most of the players will be traveling and I want to be cognizant of that~

ANYWHO. An update for you. I wanted to drop it here as an FYI since I'm still pinning down things and trying to figure out how I want to get this on the calendar in a spoiler-free way.

Savage Land (Part II) Planning!

Hello! Next Sunday (4/20), the second part of the Savage Land IC/OOC will be going up! This includes the team tracking down the strange tower they've heard about and hopefully finding Charles and the mutant that's been causing them so many problems.

So. My question to the the players is: how would your character intend to approach this situation? Would they want to approach directly and use diplomacy, would they want to sneak in to gather information, would they want to kick the door in and start a fight? Ultimately, this is up to the team (with Kurt making the final call as leader), so I want to make sure I reflect the team's early decision-making in the write up for the IC/OOC. Obviously, characters will be able to react in whatever ways they choose once things are in motion.

Soooo. Vibe check? What does your character think/want to do? If your character disagrees with the team decision, will they fall in line or rebel? If they find Charles or the unknown mutant, what do they intend to do?

Feel free to discuss here and I'll use this to help plan things out.

Hello! We've got a new batch of characters arriving in the game on Sunday (5/4)! This is last minute and I know people have already done a ton of planning on their own, but I figured I should provide a place for anyone that wants to seek out lines, introduce their characters, or otherwise talk shop. So... here's that! ♥

NEW CHARACTER PLANNING: Paige

Metaplot Shenanigans Incoming!

Hello~ I'd like to dive back into metaplot shenanigans in early/mid June and will need some assistance from ya'll.

Since early May, Ambrose has been investigating how to (a) pin down the relative positions of realities and (b) jump into echoes of their pasts. If his understanding of realities is correct, this will allow the team to go there, relive the days before their other selves went through the Siege Perilous, and attempt to investigate without having a lasting impact on that reality.

This work has been complex and frankly a little brain melting for everyone involved (...except maybe Kitty), but it is slowly yielding results!

So, the basic idea is that this will be the first of several opportunities to Quantum Leap into other realities for fun little spin-off plots with a side of metaplot investigation! It'll basically operate as follows...:

Ambrose and his crack research team will identify that this reality is currently in alignment with another reality and they can now jump over to it to investigate! This opportunity will be available for a limited time, just to help narratively push characters into doing it. It's now or never, probably!!

Whoever agrees to go on the mission will make the jump, but the person whose native reality it is will arrive first, some amount of time ahead of the others. This is just to let them experience their alt reality in all its glory(?) and get their bearings. They'll be able to access all of their other selves' memories at this time.

When the other characters arrive, they'll either end up in their own alternate self's body if they're around in that reality or just some rando body if they're not. So, for example, Scott is dead in Other Manuel's timeline, so if he comes he could end up in some rando, another X-Man, etc.

The player whose reality it is can put together a little mini-plot (whether that's a daring mission or a murder investigation or a chill time at the pool) and run that. I'll provide details/an epilogue about the Siege Perilous. These will be vague for a while so we have time to run as many of these as we want to.

And...that's it!

If you're interested in taking a swing at this, please comment here or contact me elsewhere. If I get more than one volunteer, I'll randomize it and we'll go from there. But, obviously, everyone will get a chance to run one of these if they want to!

Additionally, I will work into this first plot a mechanism to expose Gold Team to their alternate realities. So...incoming, I guess! My apologies Gold Team.

Paige's AU (and Emma's too)

HELLO so my current (somewhat wishy-washy) plans for Paige's AU are:
- Mutant sentiments are Not Good, so even doing good things as a mutant (like, you know, stopping bad mutants) is not horribly well-received. Mutant registration, monitoring, etc. Because of this, the X-Men operate as small cells across the US, trying their best to do good despite everything
- Xavier's school technically still exists, but it's very covert and only takes in a very small number of students to avoid much attention. In general, only those in the most dire circumstances because of their powers, or who have such destructive powers that Xavier thinks they could use the support, are taken in.
- The Guthries are, predictably, not having a great time in this timeline due to the plethora of mutant children, but, you know :)
- Paige (and Jono) run an X-Men branch based in Nashville together. They're dating, and are very good at their jobs. But also it's rough as hell to keep wanting to do good when everyone treats you like shit??
- Magneto is Misbehaving and has a much larger group of supporters given the general vibes of everything

For Emma's AU:
- Paige is a junior Marshal 😌 (I need to figure out her place in everyone else's too)
- Feel free to have your new kids be yet another one of Emma's children, townspeople (including mayors! sheriffs! whatever!), whatever!! They can be dead, too (sorry Warren).

Magic Shield Banlist

Back when she first started working on the shield spell, Illyana asked Scott for a specific list of "Enemies of the X-Men" to add to the wards and therefore keep out of the school.

As per our Discord convo, these names are on the list: Magneto & the Acolytes, Mr Sinister, Shinobi Shaw, Jean-Luc Lebeau, Bella Donna Boudreaux, Winston Frost.

Explicitly not included: Mystique & Irene Adler.

The shield spell also keeps out all demonic beings & all users of magic, save for the ones Illyana neutralized the spell against (herself, Ambrose, Kurt, and Kitty just in case).

LMK below if anyone else is included in this before I submit it to Kasey!
